Delhi and the fog

We super lucked out on our flight from Dubai to Delhi...with all the crazy fog Delhi has had flights are often cancelled or delayed...who knew our 3am flight was a perfect time, as by 5 am the airport was closed to do poor visibility conditions.

We're staying in a b&b which has worked out great - the hosts are extremely helpful in arranging things, giving us a reasonable idea of costs for autorickshaws and taxis to negotiate for and it's a nice respite from the hectic pace of Delhi.

Here's a street corner in Old Delhi, near the Red Fort...it's actually a pretty quiet corner, but there's a lot going on in the picture....






We met up with a friend who was posted here last week for her job and she took us around a bit in Defense colony (where a lot of expats live) and then to Chandi Chowk - which is really unbelievable how it's packed with stalls, people, cars, bikes, motorcycles, dogs, goats and the stray cow....Here's Naseem eating a samosa from this famous market:
